Do you accept credit cards and is your online store secure?

We accept payments by Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express, e-Checks, Checks, Cashier Checks, and Money Orders.

We use PayPal at www.PayPal.com to process our online transactions. The security of your information, transactions, and money is the core of PayPal's business and a top priority.

PayPal automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to PayPal's using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available). Before you even register or log in to PayPal's site, PayPal's server checks that you're using an approved browser - one that uses SSL 3.0 or higher.

Once your information reaches PayPal, it resides on a server that is heavily guarded both physically and electronically. PayPal's servers sit behind an electronic firewall and are not directly connected to the Internet, so your private information is available only to authorized computers.

You do not need an account through PayPal to send a payment

If you are new to PayPal you will simply go through an alternate checkout, and will have the option to sign up with PayPal afterwards. If you have a PayPal account, you will log in when prompted to complete your online transaction.


What if I don't have a credit card; is there another way to order and pay?

Checks, Cashier Checks, and Money Orders.

You can email us at contact@starsintexas.com or call us at 830-285-5619 and let us know which items you wish to purchase and we will then send you an invoice and instructions so you can send payment.

Please allow 14 days for checks to clear before merchandise is shipped. We will ship promptly upon receiving cashiers checks or money orders.

We ship only in the United States. Our standard shipping method is UPS Ground service in the United States. Most orders are shipped within 72 hours, not counting weekends and Holidays. Please allow between 10-14 business days (excludes Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays) for USA UPS Ground delivery. Some items may be shipped through the United State Post Office.

Please note that we do not provide UPS tracking numbers. If the order is not received by the estimated date provided, please send us an email to contact@starsintexas.com, when purchased and what items. We will contact UPS and place a Package Trace Order Request if necessary.

We have three main locations where we ship merchandise from, Virginia, California, and Texas. Most items will come from Virginia; if the item(s) are not available in our Virginia location, we will ship from the California or Texas warehouse. In some instances large merchandise orders may come in different shipments from different warehouses.


How much do you charge for Sales Tax?

6.75% Sales Tax is only charged on orders from Texas. All other states are exempt from Texas Sales Tax.


What if my merchandise is damaged or defective?

We will gladly exchange any damaged or defective merchandise at no extra cost to you. All items must be inspected immediately upon receiving.

1. In the unlikely event of shipping damage or defective merchandise, you must notify Stars in Texas by emailing us at contact@starsintexas.com within 3 days of receipt. We will direct you to which warehouse the merchandise is to be returned to.

2. You are eligible for an item replacement or a full refund including original shipping costs upon return of the item within 5 days of receipt.

Replacement: On the original shipping invoice indicate the number of items you want to replace and the reason for replacement. We will ship a replacement item at no extra cost. Replacements are subject to availability. If an exact replacement is not available, we will give you an In-Store Credit valid towards any future Stars in Texas purchase.

Full Refund: Please allow 20 business days for full refund completion, including original shipping charges. A refund will be processed as a PayPal refund or payment to your account.


Do you have a refund policy?

If you are not completely satisfied with a product, you may return it within 5 days of receipt for a refund. However, you will be responsible for all shipping charges incurred, a transaction fee of 3% of the total order for PayPal credit card fees, and a 15% re-stocking fee.

1. First we must be notified by emailing us at contact@starsintexas.com within 3 days of receipt. We will direct you to which warehouse the merchandise is to be returned to.

2. The item must be in its original condition and in its original packaging.

3. Include original shipping invoice and indicate the number of items you're returning and the reason for return within 5 days of receipt.

Please allow 20 business days for a refund completion. A refund will be processed as a PayPal refund or payment to your account.


Do you have a cancellation policy?

Once an order is placed on our Online Catalog it is automatically processed by our credit card merchant and charges cannot be stopped. If you have placed an order by error, please notify us through email at contact@starsintexas.com within one hour of order placement. We will process an order cancellation transaction and send you a confirmation through email within 24 business hours. You will be responsible for transaction fees of 3.0 % of the total order for PayPal credit card fees.

In most cases we cannot cancel orders past the first hour after ordering, or after an "Order Processed Confirmation" email has been sent. Once an order has been processed we cannot stop it at the warehouse. If you do not want the merchandise, please refuse the package at the time of delivery, or return the merchandise to our office. We will credit your account once the merchandise is received in our office. However, you will be responsible for all shipping charges incurred, a transaction fee of 2.9% of the total order for PayPal credit card fees, and a 15% re-stocking fee. Please see our section on Refund Policy for further instructions on returning merchandise.


In the Products Specifications section of a product, exactly what are some of the materials and are some hand-made?

All of our beautiful products have been crafted by talented designers and artisans from all over the world. Every item is made with exceptional care using top quality materials.

Materials include: Crystal, Alabastrite, Bone China, Porcelain, Jade Porcelain, Stoneware, Patchwork, Hong Tze, Frosted Acrylic, Gypsum, Dolomite, Mango Wood and Teak Wood.

Hand-crafted and/or hand-painted items may vary slightly in color or size when compared to photographed samples shown on our catalogs. Figurines, carvings and other hand-painted items (i.e. porcelain, alabastrite, ceramic, wood, stone, glass, etc.) are individually created by a diverse group of artists and artisans. Each brings an individual and personalized talent to his or her work, making these products truly one-of-a-kind collectors' items.

Although we contract with our manufacturers and suppliers for specific models, designs, etc. as shown in the photos, minor manufacturing design changes may occur from time to time. Stars in Texas has no control over minor variations. We reserve the right to update model designs, substitute models or colors, and fulfill orders with equivalent merchandise whenever these changes represent an equal or better value for our customers.

Alabastrite
Alabastrite is our product line name for polyresin items. Alabastrite is a stone-based material which can be intricately molded producing great detail, and will allow paint to adhere. These items may be cleaned by dusting, however, they should not be washed with water as they are painted with water soluble paints.

Bone China
White clay with bone ash added. Bone ash content must be at least 25% by U. S. guidelines. Fired at 1800 degrees. The translucent material is finished with a glaze or underglaze (matte). Lighter, stronger, more expensive than porcelain.

Porcelain
Fine ground white clay, molded and fired in an oven for eight hours at 1200 degrees. Finished with a glazed, underglazed, or "bisque" finish. Glazing produces a high gloss; underglaze produces a matte finish. Bisque is a matte finish without glaze. After finishing, the item is "cooked" for six hours at 800 degrees.

Jade Porcelain
Jade porcelain is a type of porcelain made with a finer clay. Usually no glaze or only a colorless glaze will be applied at the final firing to show off the very smooth surface and to preserve the translucency. Example: 27112. Jade Porcelain is used for night lights because of its high degree of translucency when lit.

Stoneware
White clay with fine ground stone. Working with stoneware demands great expertise, and is in fact becoming a lost art. Stoneware is safe to use in microwave and conventional ovens.

Patchwork Items
Unique fabric or paper prints are applied to the surface of porcelain, dolomite or polyresin items. After application, 12 layers of lacquer are added and the item is hand polished to a high gloss between each layer.

Hong Tze
To closely emulate a special stone found in China which is known for its deep red color, these items are created using an alabastrite polyresin. Hong Tze pieces are highly polished, further bringing out the intense, deep red color.

Frosted Acrylic
Acrylic items are given the French Lilac process, (used on glass), to achieve the distinctive frosted look. The drama of frosted glass without the weight.

Gypsum
Gypsum is a white mineral which is usually used to make Plaster of Paris.

Dolomite
A magnesia-rich, sedimentary rock resembling limestone, dolomite is either gray, pink or white in color.

MDF Wood
A wood product that is made with fine wood fiber.
